Safety Manager

LOCATION:  Saudi Arabia

INDUSTRY:  Petro-Chem, Oil & Gas Refinery

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering/B.Sc/MSc or equivalent. 
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety. 
  • Training in OSHA Standards for INdustrial plants preferred. 
  • Advanced training in management is preferred with proficiency in MS Office applications. 

DESCRIPTION:

The Corporate Safety Manager will be totally responsible for the continuous development of Safety Policies, Procedures and Safety Programs and its effective implementation

  • Monitor the company's safety perfromance through a team of Safety professionals on all company's operation & Maintenance, fabrication and EPC projects at various petrochemical plants. 
  • Ensure that all personelle are in compliance with the project/plant specific safety and security procedures. 
  • Monitor their activites through Safety Audits, recommend and implement corrective actions. 
  • Develop and organize Safety Training Programs. 
  • Participate in Safety incident investigations, recommendations and follow up action.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all safety, health and environmental policies and programs which bears critical importance to overall corporate objectives,  operations and profitablility of the various divisions.
  • Prepare project specific safety programs, job safety analysis/task rish analysis for critical activities and routine maintenance activites.
  • Review incident/accident reports and reports on plant/site emergencies.  Investigate and report causes, results and corrective actions, to avoid reoccurrences.
  • Ensure the conduct of tool box and safety meetings, daily safety audits, dailky/weekly equipment inspection, work permit compliance audits and Fire Extinguisher validity inspections. 
  • Conduct periodic Safety Training Programs for all personnel with power point presentations as needed.
  • Maintain a surveillance program to check safe working practices on site and for any hazardous conditions in plants and at job sites.
  • Ensure that employees strictly comply with the PPE program and availability of PPE and protective clothing as required.
  • Supervise housekeeping and health/hygiene/environment related activites.
  • In charge of preparing and issue of weekly Safety Newsletter.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10-12 yeasr experience and IN-DEPTH knowledge is required in petrochemical plants, with increasing levels of responsibility.  Of which, a minimum of 5 years experience is required in a similar managerial position.  Work experience in the Middle East is preferred.
